Story of Aslan
Aslan and his brother Murray greeted visitors in the “Shop in the Garden” for many years before semi-retiring to my work studio in Carmel Valley around 2006.
Aslan had eclectic tastes. Some of his favorite things were broccoli, bacon, chasing tennis balls and swimming in the ocean. He was a beloved, philosophical sort of personality, and lived to the ripe age of 17.
His brother Murray on the other hand, was a tireless greeter and very social. He loved hiking, and at the beach, was always the first to invite other dogs for a romp in the sand. Murray lived to be 14. We named our indoor gallery “Murray’s Gallery” after him.
Their current successor Yater, (named after a surfboard company), was adopted from the Golden Retriever Rescue. Yater is a one-man dog and a finicky eater. He loves road trips and especially going to my girlfriend’s house because she always has roast chicken.
